Life Update (not a story update yet, sorry!)

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to reach out and thank everyone for their continued patience as we move along at a literal snail’s pace. I also wanted to explain what’s going on/why it’s still taking forever to update. Not looking for pity or anything, just wanting to be honest and explain!

To sum it up, a combination of work stress and some personal life/health-related stressors have left me feeling incredibly burned out and depressed lately, and it’s made both time to write and motivation to write scarce. I’m sure a lot of you can understand — when you’re in a low place, it’s so difficult to find the mental and emotional energy to do things. Even things you love (like simlit, for me!)

I do promise everyone that the next chapter is coming. It’s even partially written now! I actually have the next 13 chapters planned and outlined, it’s just the writing and screenshotting that’s taking forever.

I will confess that part of me gets very worried that with the more-than-a-month long gaps between chapters, people will think I am quitting A2A. I promise you on my life that I’m not! 😂 December will be 5 years since I started writing this story. After all this time and all these generations, there is no way I will ever quit before it’s over.

I can’t say with certainty when the next chapter will be out, but what I can say is that more chapters are coming, and if you’re subscribed to my blog, I promise you that one of these days (definitely before November is over. I’ll make that promise, at least!) you’ll find a chapter update in your inbox! ❤️

Thank you again for your continued patience and support. I’m so grateful to all of you. Seriously ❤️

  1. I understand on all counts – I think I speak for everyone when I say your health (mental and physical) comes first! A lot is happening right now and I can only imagine that it’s compounded since school started again. We’ll all be here whenever you’re able. ❤

(Also, holy crap 5 years?! Time flies! But I've loved being here all the way along)

    1. Thank you, Steffie! And it’s so true about everything happening right now — I think the current state of the world is making *everyone* extra-stressed lately, which definitely doesn’t help. Blegh!

I super appreciate your understanding, and also for following my story from the start! ❤️ I can’t believe it’s been five years either 😱 Thanks for putting up with me and the Rosebrooks for all this time 😉 ❤

  2. Thank you for the update and we understand! The world is madness right now on top of our own battles we are each fighting every day! Just focus on what is important and take care of yourself. We will still be here. 🙂

  3. 5 years! That’s a amazing. That doesn’t include Dust to Dust does it? Congratulations for sticking with it.

We are all living in unprecedented times right now. That coupled with any personal challenges can make things that might’ve been difficult at best to deal with in normal times, overwhelming and debilitating. We all wish you well and want you take care of yourself. That’s the most important thing. You’re mental and physical health. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

    1. Not including Dust to Dust! D2D turned 5 in July 😱 and next Wednesday is the 5-year anniversary of when I finished it 😱

Thank you for all your encouragement and understanding, Audrey! You’re a great friend ❤️❤️❤️

  4. Thanks for the update and I completely understand! I’ve loved your stories from the very beginning and would never contemplate abandoning them just because a bit of time has elapsed. Offline real world issues always come first! Take your time and take care of yourself, I’m not going anywhere. *Hugs* ❤

It’s hard to be creative when life’s challenges show teeth.
Prioritize things that can recharge your batteries and give you joy.

      1. You are welcome 🥰
I myself am quite depressed during this period. I spend time painting and knitting a sweater for my daughter.
It is at least constructive 😊

    1. Thank you so much ❤️ And I’m not sure if I feel very brave, but I appreciate you saying that! Thank you for always being so lovely ❤️

  10. You take the time you need for you. I 100% understand. I’ve been the same way. My mood has been so down lately that just trying to write has been impossible. Now with NaNo this month, there’s no time anyway.

  11. I hope everything is okay with you. I know, the world is a hot mess and everything, but please look out for yourself and try not to go insane. We won’t abandon you like that after all that time. Would be really hard to never learn about the epic Rosebrook threesome, but better late than pushed. Breathe and don’t worry – at least not about this.
