7.19: Interlude – Blow It (Part Two)

As amazing as it felt to have Hallie in his arms again, Phoenix knew it wasn’t right. Especially not like this.

He pushed gently against her shoulders, finally managing to break away from her. “Woah, woah, woah!” He cried. “Just like, calm down, okay? You’re super drunk, Hallie. You don’t know what you’re doing.”

She shook her head. “I was wrong about you, Phoenix.” She paused for a moment. “Wellllll… Okay maybe kinda right too. You like some boring shit. And you’re kind of a doofus, really…”

Phoenix’s cheeks grew warm with anger at her words. It’s just the alcohol talking, he tried to remind himself. But it didn’t make him feel much better. “Wow, thanks.” He muttered bitterly.

“Noooo! I mean like… you’re really funny and goofy and it’s really cute. And I guess I never realized before. Not til you hurt your foot… and then when you puked in front of everybody… Ahhh! It was sooooo funny!”

“Nice. So I’m a joke to you.” He practically spat.

Hallie shook her head once more. “No! You’re just… funny! I was wrong. You’re not boring. You’re fun! And… can you keep a secret?” She asked softly.

Phoenix simply shrugged in reply.

“I’m kinda jealous seeing you with all those other girls…” Hallie leaned closer to him as she spoke. “I missed you, Phoenix. Did you miss me?”

Before he could reply, her lips were on his neck, and her hands were on his…

WOAH.

“Ha-Hallie… Wait. You’re drunk.” He sputtered as she undid the button on his jeans.

Phoenix reached down, trying to gently guide her fingers away. But Hallie moved his hands aside and kept going.

“So what?” She smiled as he felt his pants slowly drop down his legs. “I still missed you… Do you want me to show you how much I missed you…?”

Phoenix found himself thinking of Gigi, and how sad she’d looked when she’d walked away from him. I told her I’m not that type of guy… And I’m not! He tried to let that thought block out the pressure building between his legs. He wished there was some way to stop his body from reacting to her touch… but he couldn’t.

“Hallie, come on. You don’t know what you’re doing.” He said softly, taking a small step away from her. “And besides, I… I like someone else.” Though he was looking down at Hallie, Gigi’s face was the only one on his mind.

Hallie moved forward and slipped his boxers down as well, lowering herself to her knees in front of him. “That’s okay… You can still like me too…”

The soft touch of her fingers was soon replaced by something wet and warm. Holy shit.

It was like an electric jolt ripped through his entire body. Only seconds had passed, but Phoenix was so close already… He knew he could be sent over the edge any second. It was the most amazing thing he’d ever felt in his life.

But it was so wrong. Hallie was so drunk… did she even realize what she was doing? Fuck, that feels so good… Damn it… I can’t let her do this. How do I get her to stop?

He placed his hands on her shoulders, gently but firmly pushing her away from him once more. “Hallie, come on… Please. You’ve gotta stop.”

And to his surprise, she did.

But not for the reason he was hoping she would.

There was a new sort of warm wetness between his legs now… And running down his legs too. Phoenix felt his own stomach turn at the feeling… And the smell. He didn’t even want to look down at it.

“OH MY GOD I’M SO SORRY!” Hallie had dissolved into a sobbing, wailing mess on the bathroom floor.

“Hey, it’s okay.” Phoenix replied gently. After what had happened last month at the talent show, how could he judge anyone else for puking at the worst possible moment? “Are you alright?”

She looked up at him, tears streaming down her face. “I dunno.” She confessed. “I think you were right about water…”

“We’ll get you some.” He promised. “Don’t worry.”

Phoenix took a few minutes to clean himself and Hallie up as best as he could, then gently guided her back out toward the living room. He tried not to dwell on the disaster that had just gone down in the bathroom, but he couldn’t help it. First ever blowjob and I didn’t even want it! And then the girl pukes on my freaking dick… Seriously?! Who else in the world would that happen to?! Ugh!

Phoenix quickly chased the thoughts away. He had more important things to worry about right now. Everyone was supposed to spend the night at the party… But he knew he had to get Hallie home. She couldn’t stay there like this. And honestly, he wanted nothing more than to go home too.

Unfortunately, most of the people at the party weren’t old enough to drive. And those who were certainly weren’t sober enough to.

“I’m really, really sorry Phoenix.” Hallie sniffled softly as he handed her a glass of water. “I should’ve stopped when you told me to… That was sooooo stupid. And sooooo gross!”

He couldn’t help but agree. A soft laugh escaped his lips. “Yeah, it kinda was. But don’t worry about it… After tonight, we’re gonna pretend this never happened, okay?”

She nodded gratefully, taking a long, slow drink of water from her glass.

It felt so strange seeing Hallie like that. She was so awkward and insecure. It was almost painful…

This isn’t her, is it? Or… maybe it IS her…  Maybe she was usually just better at pretending.

Maybe alcohol didn’t really help with Charisma as much as he thought it did… Not after the first two or three drinks, at least. Maybe all it did was bring out the worst in you… The stuff you never really wanted anyone else to see.

“Phoenix?” This time, the voice that called out to him was a welcome one. “There you are!” Meg looked relieved as she walked toward him. “Jasper was looking for you.”

“Where is he?” Phoenix glanced over for a moment to make sure Hallie was still drinking the water he’d given her. “Is he okay?”

Meg bit her lip before replying. “Kind of… He’s pretty drunk. And a couple guys started passing around some pills or something a little while ago… They were trying to talk him into taking one. You know how those jerks can get.” She rolled her eyes for a moment. “Anyway, they started giving him a hard time, and he kinda freaked out about it. Tam took him outside to calm him down. But he kept saying he wants to go home…”

He felt his stomach drop. Pills?! A few drinks was one thing, maybe even a hit or two if they were passing a joint around. But pills? That was something he knew not to mess with. And he couldn’t help but feel proud that Jasper did too.

Okay, now we’ve REALLY gotta get out of here. This party was just getting more and more out of hand as the night wore on. And who knew what people would start doing once those drugs kicked in?

“Damn… I shouldn’t have made him come tonight.” Phoenix shook his head and rose to his feet. “Thanks, Meg. Hallie’s gotta go home too. She’s not feeling so good… Do you and Bryce want a ride? I think I’m gonna make a call…”

His friend shook her head. “Nah, we’ll stick it out for a while. If things get too crazy, my house is like two streets over.” She smiled gently at him. “I can sit with Hallie while you call your Papa, if you want.”

Mama, he corrected her mentally. Though Erik believed he and Jasper were spending the night with Tam, he was still technically under his father’s care for the weekend. But there was no way he could call his Papa… not about this. He’d kill me.

Of course, part of him knew that his father would hear about this eventually… There was no way his mother would keep this from him. But Phoenix tried his best not to think about that right now.

“Thanks, Meg.” He smiled gratefully at her, then headed off to find a quiet corner where he could make the call.

His heart beat violently in his chest as he dialed. It took him two tries before he was successful. All the stress of the past several minutes had sobered him up considerably… But he was still feeling pretty buzzed, and had no idea what he’d possibly say when his mother answered.

She finally picked up on the fourth ring. “Hello? Who is this?”

Harper’s voice sounded so groggy. It was then that Phoenix remembered it was nearly two o’clock in the morning. Fuck.

“Hey Mama.” He tried to keep his voice casual. “It’s Phoenix.”

It was like someone had flicked a switch in his mother’s brain. Her drowsy mumbling was suddenly replaced by frantic cries of alarm. “Phoenix? Oh my God, what’s wrong? Are you okay?! What happened?!” Phoenix could hear the rustling of sheets in the background, as well as a tired groan of confusion that must have come from his stepfather.

“I’m okay.” He assured her. “I just… I really need a ride home. Me and a couple friends… We’re at this party. And one of my friends got really sick. And then I guess people were taking like, pills and stuff?” Oh God, why did he have to tell her that? “And we really just wanna get out of here.”

“I’m glad you called me, honey. I’ll be right there.” Harper’s voice was only slightly calmer than it had been a few moments before. “What’s the address?”

“I dunno… It’s that big gray house on Cliff Street.”

“Alright, I think I know which one… Give me like ten minutes, okay? Wait for me outside.”

“I will…” Phoenix let out a small sigh of relief. “Thanks, Mama.”

“Love you.”

As he returned his phone to his pocket, it felt like an enormous weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He could finally escape from that stupid party, Hallie could go home and rest, and he could get Jasper as far away from those stupid drugs as he could.

Jasper… I’ve still gotta check on him. Meg had said he went outside a while ago. Phoenix needed to find him and let him know they’d found a ride home. Then maybe I can go to sleep and pretend tonight never happened.

He’d thought the night of talent show was bad, but this one… Seeing Amna again, making things so awkward in front of Gigi, and then what happened in the bathroom… It was just too much. Was this what his life was doomed to be now? One critical failure right after the other? Whoever’s DMing my life is a real piece of shit. Phoenix thought bitterly as he made his way outside.

His eyes scanned the yard, searching for some sign of his brother or Tam. But they were nowhere to be found, it seemed.

It wasn’t until he’d made his way around to the side of the house that he heard it.

It was a soft groaning, interspersed with sharp, heavy breathing. He could hear a wet sort of sound mixed in with it too… One that could have easily been mistaken for kissing.

But Phoenix knew better.

God, I hope that poor guy doesn’t get HIS dick puked on too… To his surprise, he was already able to joke about what had happened. Wonder who the lucky guy is… For a moment, all thoughts of Jasper had fled his mind. Was he just as bad as Marco, wondering who was getting busy back there?

His first guess would have been Bryce and Meg, but Phoenix knew they were still inside. Would it be wrong to peek? Creepy, even? Probably… But he was just too curious!

I’ll just look really quick, Phoenix told himself as he drew closer to the source of the noise. They won’t even notice I’m there.

Taking great care not to make a sound, Phoenix crept around the side of the bush, and looked.

Lover WitcHazard: Love How Tam’s face is like seriously bro!😝 Well Pheonix you should be happy your brother was getting better head than you! Also Pheonix better not hate on Jam cause Tam really doesn’t have to tell him his sex life! Also Phee you a perv embrace it!

Dark WitcHazard: This was the kind of crazy I needed this morning!

    1. Glad Dark enjoyed the crazy 😉 Hehehehe I had way too much fun with this one… 😉

Tipsy-Phee definitely is a little perv/voyeur! LMAO He really wanted to look… Naughty boy! But now he most certainly wishes he didn’t! Jasper definitely lucked out here in the BJ department… no awkwardness or puke involved. Just that sweet Jam lovin’ 😛

  2. Hence the name of this chapter. 😂😂😂😂 What a way to find out what’s been staring you in the face. Tam looked like he was slurping up,the goods…OMG. And Poor Jasper, literally caught with his pants down.

Hallie getting sick was too much. 😂 I’m sorta glad she did though. She maybe learned a lesson. Or not. That girl’s gonna get knocked up before she gets outta high school.

I wonder how Phoenix is gonna deal with this newfound knowledge and maybe a budding relationship or not with Gigi.

    1. “Slurping up the goods” OH MY GOD DID YOU JUST 😂 I choked a little on my coffee 😂

He might have been! I will leave it up to everyone’s imagination whether Phee caught them in the middle or was there in time for the big finish… 😂 😉

Either way, yes, what a way to find out! And after his own BJ disaster with Hallie… I think she definitely learned a lesson about knowing her limits when it comes to alcohol (and also maybe listening when someone says no? 😬) She has a better head on her shoulders than you might think (when she’s not being a phone zombie at least LOL) but definitely was a little out of control here!

LOTS for Phee to process after this big party… poor child 😬 What a cruel DM he has 😉

  3. Guh, I won’t lie, that first bit with Phoenix trying to get Hallie off him and she doesn’t is a little rough to read. Accurate to life, but not a great time. Someone get this boy home. Someone get all these kids home. Harper shows up in the mom van and takes everyone back to the Rosebrook house where they can watch cartoons and be safe for five minutes.

    1. Yeah, it was a little rough to write as well. :-/ Regardless of gender, no means no! Thankfully they didn’t get far… though gah, what a reason for her to stop! Blegh.

Haha Harper will indeed show up with a mom van, but unfortunately she only has room for Phee, Tam, Jasper, and Hallie!

    2. And I do apologize for not putting a warning about that. I had talked to a friend and was planning on adding one but forgot to. I just did ❤️

      1. Appreciated. Your writing always rings true to life and these are situations we find ourselves in. I’m glad Phoenix is keeping a clear head through it, and don’t think I don’t appreciate the Jam coming to an, ahem, climax.

  4. Well…there’s no denying it now. JAM IS OUT!

    LOL!

And Phee isn’t one for parties. Good boy! You won’t follow in your parents’ footsteps.

Hallie. GROSS!!! Can this girl get more annoying? So glad Phee realized it. He made so many good decisions this night, including calling his Mama. Harper to the rescue!

And aww…the girl on his mind is Gigi…I like the way his mind is thinking this chapter! She’s the only girl that’s worth chasing. Here’s hoping he somehow figures out how to smooth things out with her.

    1. Yes, there’s no way Phoenix can justify what he saw any other way LMAO We’ll find out in the next chapter how he deals with this news…

Glad you liked Phoenix’s thoughts in this one. He is a genuinely good kid who doesn’t want trouble and wants to do what’s right/help others. And that side most definitely came out here once things started getting out of control!

Being drunk definitely did Hallie no favors… And whether she was drunk and annoying/gross/pressuring him or not, I do still think his mind would be firmly on Gigi at this point 😉 But the question now is… is there still hope with her?

Phee has so much to think about now after this disaster of a party! Haha

      Liked by 1 person

      1. > there’s no way Phoenix can justify what he saw any other way

… I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the justification JUST happened to him. Hallie was forcing herself on him and, by his own words, even though he didn’t think it was a good idea, it was really hard to get her to stop.

        Fortunately, vomit.

Unfortunately, he has every chance to think that his best friend was assaulting his little brother. And Phoenix is, occasionally, as dumb as a sack of bricks when it comes to reading people.

        Liked by 1 person

        1. This is a fair point! Haha Phoenix can be so blind to what’s right in front of his eyes… so he could probably misinterpret this too. *sigh* Typical Phee 😛

  5. THAT is going to be The Most Awkward Car Ride Home EVER.

Hallie, wut you doing woman (oh dear) still, a part of me was like “but what a fun story to tell your grandkids one day!” (no?) maybe there’s hope for these two crazy kids yet!

    JAM. Omg.
Tam did look all like “ugh, bro, srsly?”
But that’s a nice way to calm your friend down (best friend ever).

You know what I noticed though? NO ONE GOT TO FINISH.
    Rude.
Phoenis, why did you have to look? Man, his journal is gonna GET IT later! 😮

    Liked by 5 people

    1. Okay, I am laughing because there’s literally a line in the next chapter ( a journal) where Phoenix refers to it as the most awkward card ride of his life LMAO So you most certainly hit the nail on the head. Ha!

Hallie was… not in a good place. I don’t think she’d ever dream of being that uncomfortably awkward/pressuring him like that if she were sober. I think seeing her like that was a real wakeup call to Phoenix that alcohol doesn’t really work the wonders he thinks it does… (and honestly this will probably be a huge wakeup call for her once she sobers up… These crazy kids 😛 )

Tam did not appreciate that interruption, that’s for sure! LOL But yes, what a very good friend calming his friend down with a good ol’ fashioned BJ! they are such great friends! ❤

  6. Those last screenshots had me DYING LAUGHING. Took you long enough to figure it out, huh cupcake? Although it must be pretty awkward that your younger brother is getting more/better action than you AND from your best friend….

I’m proud of Phoenix that he called his mom. It was the right thing to do and shows he is in a way much more mature than his parents were at his age.

The scene with Hallie was… interesting. I hope it doesn’t affect Phoenix too much in the future. I can imagine this being an unpleasant first experience for him.

Also, I hope Hallie doesn’t try to use this against him. She could easily lie and say he forced her to do this while she was drunk, and she would probably be believed sooner than Phoenix. I don’t think she’s the type of person to do this, but when shame and guilt kick in, you can never really know.

    Liked by 3 people

    1. At last, he’s seen the light! (and more than he ever wanted to see of his bro and Tam… yikes! LMAO) The next chapter should be interesting… He has a lot of thoughts and feelings about Jam! LOL

I was really excited to show the mature side of Phoenix in this one! Despite how dumb he can be, he does have good judgement about certain things. And honestly part of that comes from his parents, ironically haha. They’ve both learned so much from their own past mistakes and they’ve really tried to instill a lot of what they themselves were lacking at his age into their son ❤

I don't think you'll have to worry about Hallie. I do see how things could easily go that way though! But despite it all, she's not a bad person and I think once she sobers up, she will feel really foolish and embarrassed and awful for what went down in that bathroom… This will be a learning experience for everyone! (And poor Phee… I feel like it'll be a long time before he feels brave enough to let another girl put her mouth near his dick… lmao)

      Liked by 1 person

      1. I’m glad there is nothing to worry about with Hallie, it was a bit of a doom scenario but she seems like a sweet girl underneath it all 🙂

And yes, Harper and Erik (and Rubi and Dev) did a good job raising that kid! ❤

        Liked by 1 person

  7. You know, I’m actually rather proud of my boy Phoenix. He does some silly things, but it’s good to see he’s still capable of exercising good judgement. He was able to recognize that things were out of hand and do what needed to be done, despite the possibility of getting in trouble with his dad.

And hey, in this one night he came close to witnessing enough of other people’s embarrassing moments to almost make up for all his own. So that’s something. Maybe there’s something to Marco’s style of gossip mongering? Lol.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. Aw, I’m glad you’re proud! He’s a good kid despite it all. He has poor judgement in a lot of social situations, but he also can have really good judgement when it counts ❤

And LMAO! You're right — maybe seeing the other embarassing moments will help him feel better about his own? We can hope… 😉

  8. OH LAWD! PHOENIX!!!! Officially the WORST way to find out your brother and best friend are together. Dang I feel like Phee is gonna spiral after this. With everything going on he truly felt like Tam was there for him. I think he’ll feel betrayed. I feel bad for him. I’m proud for Phee for sticking to somewhat a moral compass. But he needs to be honest with his dad because I have a feeling Harper is about to spill the beans without intending to. Maybe it’s time for his parents to roll nat 20’s on their perception and investigation checks.

    Liked by 2 people

    1. Yeahhhhhh that was probably the worst possible way imaginable for him to learn the truth. Yikes! We’ll see in his next chapter how he feels about it all…

And yes, there’s a moral compass in there somewhere! Haha I think his parents need to have a talk with him for sure. We shall see… Thank you for reading!

  9. Phoenix’s is beginning to realize that he is not the only teen with insecurities. Everyone has insecurities, even his parents.
Sometimes life experiences is the best lessons learn. I still think the parents need to sit him and Jasper down and tell him about their past. I believe Phoenix is going to be grounded for a long time. Wonder if Harper will report the party to the police.
The ending was hilarious. Poor Phoenix, his head has finally come out of the sand in more ways than one.

And I’m glad you enjoyed the ridiculous ending hehehe 😉

  10. Okay, NOW he surely has figures stuff out, unless he is an actual idiot.Anyway, I must say That Hallie pucking in his genitals surely is going to teach him a thing or two, about this whole situation he got himself in…( Gotta say, Phoenix’s karma happens fast! Most Rosebrooks only face their consequences after some years…) When I read the note, I thought Hallie was going to say something like ”TAKE YOUR PANTS DOWN” with a more ”agressive” behavior…glad I was wrong.
Hope the drunk part, and the pills part, remind him that he *is* going to a party he wasn’t invited,AKA there’s no way you could know if there’s shady people on this places or not.Happy that Harper is fine with this, but she surely is going to coment with Erick about it, and then things are going to blow, because of the whole ”gene stuff” with Jasper, and the fact that he could have very well taken those pills at the party.

    1. Hahaha hopefully he’s not THAT much of an idiot… but we’ll see in the next chapter! And yes, Hallie wasn’t aggressive, just really awkwardly pushy… and then gross when she puked on him LOL

Good chance Harper will tell Erik, yes! 😬 Things might get awkward fast… but maybe not… we shall see…

Listen… Why doesn’t he sleep like vomit? If it got on his dick, it should’ve also hit his pants that were down around his legs on the floor, no? How’s he gonna explain that to his mom, lol?

And really Phee? Just had to go looking for the source of the sound. Welp… You found what you were looking for. 🙄🙄

      1. And now I’m thinking about whoever’s house it is. They walk into the bathroom, see vomit on the floor, discover the empty can of sir freshener. They’re just like, “what the hell happened here, and why haven’t I noticed anyone smelling like lavender, linen, and bile…?”

  12. Why do I have a feeling Harper is gonna tell Phoenix about Erik’s addiction. He’s old enough but I think they’re both just so ashamed of their past that they shelter Phoenix in a way.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. You’re right that he’s definitely old enough, and this would be a good time to bring up that convo! He’s totally been sheltered up until now.

But I don’t think Harper would tell him, simply because it’s not her story to tell. She still respects and cares for Erik enough not to share that secret without his consent… but maybe *Erik* could finally have that much-needed convo with his sons…. we’ll see!

      Thanks for reading! ❤️

  13. I’m pretty proud of Phoenix for a few of the decisions he made! It would have been easy enough for him to not try so hard to stop Hallie, especially once she, uh, had her mouth full, as it were. You know, up until she puked, at least. But he didn’t, he still was trying to stop her, so that’s great! So many guys wouldn’t have tried as hard. And I’m glad he called his mom to get them out of there, too.

Only one thing to say about his pervy peeping tom discovery—LOLOLOLOL!

So I figure we have one more chapter of the teen arc, where his journal entry tells us how he’s grounded until he’s an adult? 🤣🤣🤣

    1. Yes, he was a really good egg here ❤️ Phoenix can but pretty stupid, but he’s a really good kid underneath it all. I was happy for the chance to show that in his one! If Hallie were less sloppy/falling-all-over-herself drunk, Phee probably would have just rolled with it. But it felt so wrong to take advantage of her. Good boy ❤️

And then he’s rewarded with… THAT 😂 Poor child

LMAO that’s a distinct possibility for the best chapter 😂 Ha!

OOOF not the best way to find out about your brother and best friend. In terms of best to worst ways, that’s probably pretty close to the worst way to find out.

Whoever’s DMing my life is a real piece of shit.
    I’m dead! XD

Part of me wants to be irritated that Phoenix never suspected anything about Tam and Jasper. But, then again, why would he? Birds of a feather flock together, and everyone always assumes the people closest to them are just like them. He wasn’t looking for his brother and friend to be lovers because why would they be…except they are LOL. That probably makes no sense. Must be time for bed lol.

  17. Got a bit nervous there when they mentioned Jasper and the pills. Glad history’s not quite repeating itself. Also glad about how Harper seems to be handling this. I imagine his dad will flip, but I really hope he tells him about the underlining reasons rather than the whole holier than thou attitude…

Phee’s had quite the night… But he finally seems to be wising up to the fact that other people are not quite as self-assured as he thought either, and that everybody doubts themselves sometime. That’s ought to be worth some XP for sure!

Curious to see how he takes Jasper and Tam’s relationship, though it was definitely about time he found out (albeit in less than ideal circumstances lol)

    1. Yeah, things could have been bad with Jasper but he was smart! And Harper is such a great mom…. hopefully Erik will be equally as understanding, despite the circumstances? 😬

Phee is 10000% regretting going to this party, despite the good lessons he’s learned haha it’s at least given him some new perspective though! He might be traumatized for a while though 😂

And oh my yes… what a way to learn the truth 😂😂😂😂 But it was about time, you’re right!
