Interlude: Full Circle

——————————————————-

“Mmmm…” Hope sighed softly against Zayne’s lips as they moved with hers. He let his mouth travel down her jawline toward her neck, and she sighed even louder.

The sound was driving Zayne crazy. He and his new wife had finally managed to sneak away from the reception for some time alone, and he planned on taking full advantage of it. He reached down, gathering the soft fabric of her skirt into one of his large hands as he let his fingers begin creeping up the smooth skin of her thigh.

To his dismay, she broke away from him, giggling. “Woah there, mister.” Hope reached down, gently pushing his hands away.

“Aww, you’re no fun.” He pouted dramatically, eliciting another bright laugh from her lips.

“Sorry… But I don’t want to consummate our marriage in a bush, Zayne.” She teased.

Her husband laughed. “Alright, alright… Fair enough.” He paused for a moment. “In that case, the bridal suite is just upstairs…”

“Okay, now that isn’t such a bad idea.” Hope smirked playfully at him. “If we can manage to sneak past everybody again.”

“True… Might be a challenge. I swear, my grandparents are like vultures or something.” Zayne shook his head for a moment.

“They’re just happy, I guess… I don’t think any of them expected we’d ever get here.” She replied with a laugh.

“Good point… I mean hell, did you even think we would?”

“I had my doubts for a while.” She admitted. “But deep down, I think I always knew it had to be you.” Hope turned away from him then, looking out over the beautiful grounds of the estate. “I still think it’s so crazy that we somehow ended up back here… It’s like we came full circle or something.”

He nodded, pointing at the winding green hedge off in the distance. “See that bush? That’s the one I was hiding behind when I chickened out and ran back home…”

“Well, I’m really glad you didn’t this time.” His wife replied softly as her laughter died away.

“Never.” Zayne reached out to take her hands, pressing his lips against them for a moment. “This is the happiest day of my life, Hope. Seriously.”

“Oh yeah? Even happier than when your restaurant opened?” She teased.

“Hmm… Good point. Okay, second happiest.” Zayne winked at her. “Ow! Kidding!”

Hope pulled her hand back, giggling for a few moments. A soft sigh passed her lips as her smile slowly melted away. But she didn’t look angry or upset. Just thoughtful. Zayne wondered what she might be thinking. At last, she opened her mouth to speak.

“It’s just amazing isn’t it?” She said softly. “Thinking about how far we’ve come together… I mean, look at where we are. Look at where we started.” Hope shook her head. “It’s been one hell of a ride.”

“A rollercoaster.” Zayne agreed.

As his eyes glanced back toward the beautiful manor, he noticed that he and Hope were not the only couple who’d been looking for a little alone time. His in-laws stood together on the back porch, sharing a kiss in the cool night air. Beside him, he caught Hope making a face of disgust… But Zayne secretly thought it was wonderful.

He didn’t know many details — he doubted Hope did either. But Zayne knew that Carly and Ralph’s relationship hadn’t always been an easy one. They’d had a lot of ups and downs when they were younger… Hope had told him that they were even broken up for a while before she was born. But now here they stood, still happily married three decades later.

On the other side of the patio, Zayne could also see his aunt and grandfather sitting together beneath the stars. Mark would be turning eighty next year, and it was so upsetting to watch the signs of old age beginning to take their toll on him… Yet he and Jocelyne still flirted and giggled together like two school children, seemingly oblivious to the two decades that separated them.

Though they’d never told him the specifics, Zayne knew the two of them had faced a hell of a lot too. Breaking up, loss, heartache… Yet they both overcame it together, and Zayne couldn’t think of two people who were a better example of what true love should be.

“Look at our parents.” He whispered at last, breaking the silence. Zayne nodded in the direction of each couple as he spoke. “They’ve gone through hell and back together, haven’t they? Just like us. And look at them now.”

Hope smiled softly. “You’re right. I guess some of the best love stories are built on second chances…” She glanced back toward the older couples for a moment. “And there’s your proof.”

“Exactly.” Zayne turned to face his beautiful new wife once more. “They made it, and so will we.” He promised her, running his hand down her cheek. “No matter what crazy shit life decides to throw at us, we’ll be okay.”

“No, we won’t.” She replied, shaking her head. Her lips curled into a smile. “We’ll be a lot better than that.”

He chuckled as he lowered his lips to meet hers.

Here is a little bonus pic (for my HoZay peeps) that wasn’t taken for the chapter, but was too adorable not to share:

Now, believe it or not, this is the end of Gen 5! 😮

“But Citizen, where are the nooboos?!”

Originally I planned on having one final arc to this gen showing Hope and Zayne’s journey with having their child, but I decided to cut it for two reasons. One, this is already my longest generation yet (haha) and two, I feel like after all the build-up throughout the second half of this generation, ending it with Hope and Zayne finally getting together (for better or for worse, depending on if you shipped them or not 😛 ) felt like a more fitting way for us to end things 🙂

To celebrate the end of Zayne’s generation, I have a new Casting Call for you guys participate in, if you’d like! Please click the link for all the information!

The casting call is CLOSED! You guys MORE than delivered. I already have nearly 40 sims and it’s only been one day. You’re amazing! If anyone started making a sim before I closed the call, you can still submit them, so I’m wiling to take on a couple extra. But after Saturday, it’s closed for good! Thank you all 🙂

And without further ado, I welcome you all to…

Generation Six: Harper

  1. You KNOW I am squealing all the way through this chapter! ❤ ❤ LOL. And I LOVE the name Harper. Any significance other than it is an absolutely adorable name?

    1. I knew you’d love this one 😉 Hehe

There are two reasons for the name Harper. One is for me, one is for Zayne LOL!
      1. Zayne’s mother was Hazel and his wife is Hope, so he wanted to give his daughter a name that starts with an H too, because the most important women in his life all have H-names (except Joce, but that can’t be helped 😛 )
      2. I was trying to come up with a good H name and I remembered that back when I first got TS4, I had started a legacy (just played, never written) and their last name was also Rosebrook (I had re-used that last name on purpose for A2A 😛 ) and the female founder of my first TS4 legacy was Harper Rosebrook… so it felt perfect ^_^

  2. Enjoy while you can Zayne, because, if your anything like the previous heirs…your story won’t end just there…Also, I noticed that this whole cituation was like butterfly effect, I mean, it alll began with a small discussion years ago, and this discussion took such big consequences! Also supporting that Zayne’s life isn’t going tp be easy is the fact that the family has no problems what-so-ever know, unlike previous gens, so i imagien that the problem will either continue to be his life with Hope, or some new one.

    1. Haha there’s always drama ahead 😉 And you’re so right about the butterfly effect with these two! It’s been fun to write ^_^

  3. I loved reading this. Definitely worth bringing the snacks for this one. I love the name Harper though. 10/10. It’s going to be weird seeing things from Harper’s pov now though. I’m so used to Zayne, gonna miss his stupidity, but i’m excited to see what she’s like. (I wonder if she will be like Zayne?) They could have gone for the bush Zayne hid in when he was 16. lol. They could have got married in the Bistro you know. That was where they actually met. But I loved where they got married, so i’ll forget about that fact.

There’s gonna be a point Zayne is going to have to explain to his daughter about Luc & Hazel though. She will ask eventually. He best be prepared for it.

    1. I’m happy you enjoyed! It will definitely be an interesting change to get used to Harper 🙂 But I have loved writing her gen so far!

And the Von Haunt Estate is a much better wedding venue than the restaurant haha so it felt like a better choice 😉 Thanks for reading 🙂

      1. Haha this was all I could think when I read this. Their wedding was so beautiful ❤ also since this is probably a few months down the road I guess abigail isn't pregnant? And Zayne and hope are just sweet. So YAY 😀

  5. I do feel this is a more complete ending to Zayne’s arc. It’s so sweet seeing all the couples. I am excited to see what comes next. I’m ready for some fresh faces.

  6. I got major feels when Zayne said “our parents”! He thinks of Mark and Jocelyne as his parents and that’s so sweet. I figured he felt that way about them a long time now but I think this is the first time he has referred to them that way (unless I’m wrong). Usually he refers to them as just his Tante and Grandpa.
I really like the happy ending for Zayne and Hope and I’m looking forward to Harper. I know her story is gonna be more dramatic than her father’s if she follows in the footsteps of past Rosebrook women.

    Liked by 1 person

    1. I’m glad you caught that! 🙂 Yes, this is the first time we actually hear Zayne refer to them as his “parents”. I loved throwing that in there. He maybe isn’t great at telling them, but he really does see them that way!

Glad you enjoyed this happy ending and are looking forward to the next gen! I’m not sure why my female heirs always end up with the most drama… but I will neither confirm nor deny that that will be true with Harper too 😛

  7. Goodbye Generation Zayne.
I would have loved to see this little girl grow up from start, but it is a satisfying ending, to see those two so happy. They deserve their happy ending.

I’ve already been looking forward to Harper since I’ve seen her preview picture. It is really cute, and Zayne looks so grown up on it (and sexy in a very mature way). Is there a reason there is no more banner rotating?

Since I do not know what your plans with Harper are, I will give two of my favourite ingame-born sims to your casting, and I am looking forward to many new and hopeful faces.

    1. Thank you so much, Luna! We’ll still get to see a lot of Harper’s life, don’t worry 😉 I decided to change my banner to a still-image one so we could focus on sweet little Harper (and sexy Zayne hehehe)

Can’t wait to see who you submit for the casting call. Thank you so much for reading!

  8. Ah well, I guess we all knew this was coming. I’m happy they’re happy, but they’ll never beat my favorite couple Marklynne 🙂

So excited for gen 6, though! And I think I might participate in this upcoming casting call. Seems like a lot of fun!

    1. Yeah, I knew not everyone was gonna be thrilled with this, since not everyone ships HoZay haha Glad you’re so excited for Gen Six! I am too! And I’m excited that you want to participate in the casting call 🙂 I’m pumped to see what everyone comes up with!

  9. Yayayayayayayayyyy! I actually really love when story tellers mix it up and skip the whole “raising the kids” part. It can be so tedious and repeatitive so I 100% support this! Both for my reading and for your story telling. Not that your story is tedious…I can’t make any sense right now but I hope you understand I’m not talking about you specifically! 😂😂 I’ve never once finished reading a chapter and went “how pointless!” I watched my nephew this morning and I’ve been up since 7am and I’m normally up at 10 so I’m delirious 😂😂 ANYWAY! Absolutely wonderful ending to Zaynes main story ❤️❤️❤️

    1. Hahaha I do know what you’re saying. Thanks, Nichole! 🙂 We WILL get to see her get raised though… We’re just skipping the baby stuff (and we only have five chapters of her as a toddler). I’m glad you loved the end of this gen so much 🙂 I had so much fun writing it! Thanks for reading 😀

  11. Aww! Together at last 🙂 After one ginormous roller coaster of trials and tribulations, the fifth Rosebrook heir finally enjoys the blissful side of life (for now, at least). Yay for Zayne!! 😀

I loved the chapter, and I’m glad you ended it with Zayne and Hope getting married. It was delightfully sweet and gave everyone, including dear ol’ Z, some positive closure. For someone who started out as having a terrible personality (thus being really disliked), Zayne has grown up to be the most mature and responsible Rosebrook heir so far (he’s also had as much development). Something which, by the way, definitely proves that the Rosebrook brood would benefit from a family therapist on speed dial (I propose a parallel therapist legacy, or making big donations).

Hurray for the happy couple, and a well deserved congratulations to every member of the SS HoZay (and it’s salvaged submarine) crew! You never wavered.

Can’t wait to meet Harper! It’s been so long since we’ve had fresh new faces around here. We’ll have to wait and see what shenanigans she comes up with. After all, she has five generations of drama to carry (not to mention add her own).

    1. Thank you so much, Sara! I’m so glad that you appreciate Zayne’s growth. He’s really come so far, and had one of the biggest transformations of any character yet 🙂 I’m proud of him! (Mari also had one, but hers took a lot longer to achieve!) I love the idea of the therapist on speed dial… Ha!

We will see what’s in store for Harper! 😉 I’m pretty open with the fact that this story is meant to be something of a soap opera, so… I cannot promise an easy life for her. But I can promise an entertaining one 😉 Hehehe

Thank you so much for reading! ^_^

  12. Ok, it’s been a while since I last reviewed, but I had to say something about this chapter. It was in the middle of Zayne’s generation that I caught up and could no longer binge read, which meant that I followed along with his character growth along with everyone else. And it’s so satisfying to see him where he is now, happy and so hopeful for his future. I mean, the calm can’t last, but while it does, I’m going to enjoy it! Goodbye for now Zayne. I’ll look forward to reading about your daughter’s life, and I’ve also sent in a couple of girls to the casting call!

I look forward to the future. And I believe with all my heart they’re going to be happy.

  14. What a wonderful conclusion for this generation! I agree that the way to do it was with Zayne and Hope finally together…considering I think they were meant for each other as much as any two people (or sims) ever have been, it took them long enough! I’m so excited for the next generation!

    1. Thank you, Elizabeth! I’m really happy that you were so satisfied with the ending to Zayne’s generation 🙂 I also agree that these two were totally meant to be! I couldn’t resist having them finally find their way back to each other again (hopefully for good!)

Seeing then together the second time around was awesome, mostly smiles, a few fights, but they talked it out and got theough it together. Let naysayers nay, they know how to stick together through thick and thin.

The combination of two great legacy families is dope, and it’s even better that they’re so in love and meant to be. They’re incapable of staying apart, and now they never have to be again!
